What is a Digital Product Passport?

A Digital Product Passport (DPP) carries what a manufacturer publishes about a product's journey from raw materials to your hands. Scan the QR code on a DPP-enabled product to read its origin, materials and environmental data, and to check the digital signature on the record you are shown.

Opening a scanned link records a hashed form of your IP address and your user agent alongside the passport identifier; API resolutions record the IP address itself. Scan records are retained with the passport. No scheduled deletion job runs today, so that retention is unbounded.
